Heidi MacEwen, RYT, is a certified Group Exercise Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Associates of America (AFAA) since June 8, 2008.

She is a graduate of Mama Nirvana’s New Yoga 200hr teacher training program 2013-2014. Heidi is also a recent graduate of Jennifer Reis’ Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra teacher training progam held at Kripalu.

Prior to opening  Total Body Yoga & Pilates formerly ,  Pilates Flex & Fusion Fitness Studio, she taught classes at Gold’s Gym in Chicopee, MA from 2008 to June 2012 as a certified Les Mills, BODYPUMP instructor. In addition to BODYPUMP Heidi also taught a FusionFLOW class at Gold’s. This class was best described as a mind/body fitness workout that blends standing Pilates, ballet, Yoga, calisthenics, control movements that focuses on breath, balance, strength and posture to elongate muscles and burn calories.

Heidi’s love of the mind/body fusion style classes has led her to attend several workshops with PowderBlue Productions to include PiYO Instructor Training in May 2009 and also completed the PiYo Strength Instructor training in March 2012 and is a certified PIYO LIVE instructor now with Beachbody. Heidi is also a Beachbody Fitness Coach, a role which allows her to not only help coach her members both in nutrition and fitness while at the studio but also from a distance staying connected for support and accountability through social media.

Her other passion is Balance training and she has attended several BOSU workshops to include Mobility & Stability for the Active Aging Adult, BOSU Core Flow and BOSU Strong & Stretched.

Heidi is also a certified instructor for the Balletone Sole Synthesis program. She initially attended the Sole Synthesis Instructor training in July 2010 and again in Feb. 2012 where she earned her Master Balletone Ambassador (MBA) status as a Sole Synthesis Instructor. She also attended the Standing Flow Instructor training in February 2011 and again most recently in April 2013, also earning the MBA in the Balletone Standing Flow format.

Finally, Heidi was a student of Gayle Stefanelli of Stretch Yoga Center (the former owner of the studio, who has since moved to NC) since they met in April 2008, primarily taking her Pilates classes. When time allowed she also enjoyed Gayle’s yoga classes. Heidi will miss her mentor greatly but is very thankful for the opportunity to continue on with her studio and teachings and the hopes that you may enjoy her Pilates, Total Body workout classes, new Fusion style class offerings as well her Yoga, too.

 


Virginia Constant

 

Virginia Constant was a ballet dancer growing up and learned to love movement. While a student at Mount Holyoke College, Virginia discovered her love for yoga. She completed a 200-hour teacher training at West Hartford Yoga in Connecticut. She is excited to share her love of yoga with everyone at Total Body Yoga and Pilates.

 


Julia-Fournier-ReaJulia Fournier-Rea received her yoga teaching certification from Mama Nirvana’s New Yoga. She has been practicing yoga for over a decade and teaching in the Pioneer Valley since 2007. Julia holds a masters degree in biology and infuses her classes with anatomical knowledge. Her classes are lighthearted and fun; students will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed after a strong asana practice and lengthy relaxation. In addition to practicing and teaching yoga, Julia teaches high school science and enjoys good food, running, dancing, reading, and spending time with her family.

Lisa Stahl is a certified Group Exercise Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Lisa starting teaching group exercise while attending UMASS and incorporates her past experience as a Kicking boxing and Step Aerobics instructor into her Total Body classes. Lisa has completed the BOSU workshop, Core Flow as well as the AFAA workshop for Primary Pilates. She is in the process of training to become a Beachbody Fitness Coach and enjoys sharing her passion for mind and body health and wellness with her students. In addition to Lisa’s love for fitness, she is a public school teacher and mother of two very busy boys!
